A Hope for the Future

A Hope for the Future
Written by Justina Braun Jan. 24/13

Once upon a time, long, long ago…
There was a little community, where everything happened just so.
The day started out bright and the little people had plenty of work to get done,
And of course work started way before the rising of the sun!

As one farmer heads out to the barn to milk the cows,
The other goes to his horses and heads out to the fields with the plow.
The women rise early to hoe the garden before the sun gets too hot in the sky,
After that, there’s always something to clean, bake, wash, and groceries to buy!

In this particular society, there lived this one peculiar family not so very far off.
This family was nothing of the rich sort, but they knew how to look tight and tough.
And if you happen to be the fly on the wall,
You’d soon see, they were full of love and happy moments and had room for all!

This family had one motto in life their father had taught them from young.
Be like Jesus in every area and always lean on Him, whose shoulders are strong.
The community wondered at the relationship they shared,
And how this family was normally happy and helping people even when sometimes it was just showing they cared.

There just so happen to come a day,
Where this fine society had become too accustomed to always getting their way.
They had all forgotten what it meant to be one body in Christ, and worked for only themselves.
And this little family came to a point where there was nothing left on their pantry shelves.

Sofia, the youngest in the family, tells her father this,
“Dad, we are the richest family, because we are family of the king.” And she gave him a kiss.
Though for this family the times had become hard and everything was ending.
They lived with the hope that in the near future awaiting them at the end of life was their eternal friend!

They kept working and encouraging each other as best they could,
And you know, for this family, everything happened like they never thought it would!
Yes, Sofia had been right; they were the richest family on earth.
And just like Job, they stayed standing and got back twice then the amount was worth.

Prayer For My Daddy

Prayer For My Daddy
Written by Justina Braun January 7, 2013

Lord God, I bring my Daddy before you,
You know what he’s going through.
Please Lord, take his burdens away,
And open a path so that he’ll find your answers today!

Lord, my Daddy is in dire need of You.
Please work in the lives around him to stay true!
I don’t know what your plan for him is,
But Lord I know your plans are superior to his!

My Daddy has had to go through many things for others,
And yes, I know You have done much more for us then what I could image, Father!
I praise and Thank-you for your grace and mercy you give to us,
I come before you in behalf of my daddy, and know You I can trust.

Lord, I cry out to You to hear my prayer.
Almighty Father, we can’t go on without your care!
I can’t do anything with my Daddy’s pain.
I see my Daddy tough even when sometimes the tears slip down his cheeks and he tries to stay sane.

Lord, I ask of You to please give abundance of wisdom.
So that he can continue to work for your kingdom!
My Daddy has helped many a people in need,
Shelter, food, and clothing he gave and had no greed!

Lord, my Daddy now needs You.
I pray you’ll send an Angel by to help carry the load that is due!
Lord, has he not been faithful to you?
Protect him and guide him which is nothing but true!

The Butterfly Who Ran Out of Time

The Butterfly Who Ran Out of Time
Written by Justina Braun

I was watching not far,
A man, who tried to mow his yard.
He driving quiet slow,
As if he had never mowed.
Then there on the grass,
As if he would step on glass.
He kept looking around,
Like there was treasure to be found.
Like a kite that could not fly,
He held a wounded butterfly.
I saw the look in his eyes,
You know, some one ready to cry.
It wounded him deeply to see the butterfly die.
And he knew it would never again fly in the sky.
It reminded me so much of us people on earth,
Who so easily do something to others that hurts.
Lets do something encouraging today,
While there still is a way.

Tick Tock

Tick Tock
Written by Justina Braun

Tick Tock, Tick Tock,
I hear the clicking clock.
Time seems to be everything,
And yet, to some it’s nothing!

We go through hard and fun times,
Always worth more because of it’s learning time!
My God goes by no time,
And I always run out of time!

Hurry run and do this or that,
And make sure you don’t forget to feed the cat.
Oh no, practice too is soon,
Which means I hurry have to get my guitar in tune.

I rush home from work,
Once my job is done as a clerk.
I hurry up with supper,
And make a run through the shower.

I zoom under the bed covers,
And find myself counting time and discover,
Time is ticking and running like a jock.
I hurry close my eyes, and fall asleep with the sound of tick tock.

Time Well Spent

        Time Well Spent
Written by Justina Braun Nov. 20/12

What does it really mean, Time well spent??
Baking a cake or cookies and looking up new treats to invent?
Go clean your truck and make it look great and shiny?
Or better yet, please everyone so as to have no one whiny?

You say time well spent is staying busy and doing it well.
As important as it is, I still have a problem with that; anyone can stay busy and answer their cell.
Awe, you say helping out a friend and making sure he’s happy and content.
Oops, it’s wrong again, it has nothing to do with you and your friend’s commitment!

We way to often try and do all these good and encouraging things,
And way too often it’s become a thing you do for the benefit to give you wings.
It’s good to bake, clean, encourage, and stay busy in your life,
But the question is why and for whom is it that you live your life with such strife?

I’ve come to realize that we’re here on this earth to further God’s Kingdom,
To praise, glorify, and bring honor to His name by living in His wisdom.
Time well spent can be doing the simplest thing or the hardest thing,
As long as your heart’s motive is doing what you do to worship the king.

Evidence of You

Evidence of You
Written by Justina Braun Nov.19, 2012

I see You in the wind blowing through the trees,
I feel You near, when in prayer on my knees.
I feel Your touch of love, when my eyes pool over with tears,
I hear You whisper, I love you, in different ways for many years!

I see You in the comforting hugs received when losing a loved one.
I see the joy you bring to couples when You gift them with a daughter or Son.
I see You create many different miracles in times of great need.
And I hear You give me correction on when I haven’t followed your lead.

I love the feel of Your presence near when we chit-chat all day long,
You’re with me when You send me trials to make me strong.
I thank You Lord, for giving me life, and a second chance,
You and only You know the reasons behind every circumstance.

Bridle Game Poem

There are 12 bold typed words on this poem. When the poem is being read, the Bride to be (SAM) needs to find the items in the box that have the same brand name, or name on it. Then show the item to make the poem more fun and continue reading.

My Dearest Sam,

You’re getting ready for marriage with Prince charming.
Prepare yourself to smell the scent of farming.
So just a little hint, try and keep your home smelling ALWAYS FRESH.
And once the stench arises, you’ll know what to do in a FLASH.

The bicycles you have will keep you in shape, if you keep them in use,
But if you don’t, you might GAIN a pound or two without an excuse.
So many things in your life may at times feel out of your REACH,
But just make do with the things around you, even when you teach.

I’ll warn you though; Steward loves to have pets around,
So your 1st anniversary gift might just be TURTLES, or a dog partly hound.
If you’ll expect pets to be your gift, he’ll surprise you with dozen ROSES.
In either case, get dolled up for him in sexy clothes, maybe even a pair of hoses.

One thing I just want to encourage you,
Your marriage will hit a SOUR PATCH a time or too.
Walk with the Lord hand in hand as you work it through,
And TAKE 5 positive things he’s done for you and prove your love true.

Ps- With God first in your life, remember, relationship is worth more then GOLD.
And I hear after a short time now, your market will say sold.

Sam, this poem was a lot of fun to write. I wish you all the best as you make ready to spend eternity with the Love of your life! I love you guys and if you ever need someone to laugh, hug, clean, cook, bake, night out, even cry with or Babysit, I’m your kind of girl!
